The problem

An EV charger can add more load than your current system can handle.

Many homes in Atlanta were built with 100A or 150A service and don't have enough electrical capacity for an EV charger and today's electrical needs.

Existing panel has no capacity

Your panel may be full and not have space for a new EV charger circuit.

Frequent breaker trips

Adding an EV charger can cause nuisance trips if your system is already at its limit.

Older 100A/150A service

Many older homes need a service upgrade to support modern electrical loads.

Future high-load appliances

Heat pumps, electric ranges and other upgrades may require a larger service.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Not always. If your panel has room and your service has enough capacity, we can add the charger circuit as is. If the panel is full or the load calculation comes up short, you'll need a panel or service upgrade. We check before we quote.

Yes. We install Level 2 chargers on a dedicated circuit, hardwired or with a plug-in outlet, sized to the charger and your car.

There are a few options: freeing up space with tandem breakers where the panel allows it, adding a subpanel, or replacing the panel. We'll tell you which one actually fits your home.

Yes. We pull the permits and coordinate the inspections the job needs.

It depends on the charger, the distance from the panel to where you park, and whether the panel or service needs upgrading. We look at your setup and give you a clear, detailed estimate before any work starts.

A charger on its own is usually done in a day. If the panel or service needs upgrading too, inspections and utility scheduling set the timeline, and you get a realistic schedule with your estimate.
